Writing your way through the history of broken scripts


On the weekend of 16th and 17th July 2016 typeface designers, graphic designers, calligraphers, typographers etc. are welcome to attend the workshop and lecture series on broken scripts (blackletter) and get to know three of the main broken scripts through writing!

Drury Brennan, Marleen Krallmann, Albert-Jan Pool and Petra Rüth provide workshops on Textura, Fraktur (both broad nib) and german Kurrent (pointed nib) as well as background informations. On sunday there will be time to use the learned scripts and techniques for self-brought or spontaneous projects!

Most of the workshops and lectures will be in German, Drury Brennans workshop and lecture will be in English.
